What are Front Page Extentions ?

FrontPage Extenstions are set of software scripts created by Microsoft to provide FrontPage support on Linux/unix Platforms.

So If you host website on Front Page extensions installed server, you can upload website designed in Front Page 2002/2003 easily to Linux servers.

Does Front Page still exists ?

Nope, Microsoft stopped developing/supporting Front Page designed sites from 2006.

What happens to Front Page extensions ?

Since Microsoft stopped support for FP and FPE, many web hosting companies not providing support for FrontPage.

What happens to existing Front Page designed web site on linux servers now?

With great regret, FastWebHost has decided to discontinue FrontPage publishing on all of our cPanel hosting servers. This is because Microsoft and Cpanel has discontinued FrontPage extension support for the Unix platform and we have recently observed severe intrusion attempts using FrontPage vulnerabilities.

How to design sites and upload sites?

Even though we don't support Front Page extensions, we fully support FTP,File Manager and web disk to upload files to server. So choose your web design software which supports basic file transfer method i.e FTP.

Please contact our support or open ticket if you are experiencing troubles with Front Page and Front Page Extensions.
