Why is Spam Box disabled?
Posted by kumar, Last modified by Kim S. on 30 January 2016 08:01 PM

We have purposely disabled the ability for our customers to enable the Spam Box feature on their own since most users did not understand that the email would still be coming to their account and it was using up their email quota (space). It was causing higher loads on the mail servers as well as additional support requests since users were unaware of how to check the spam. To remove the spam, email account users need to log in to the horde webmail client and go to the Spam Box folder to delete the spam. We can enable SpamBox for you if you understand this, you just need to email support@fastwebhost.com with the last 4 digits of the card on your account (for security purposes) and a request to enable this.

The alternative (and recommended method) is to set up a filter that works with Spam Assassin. To enable spam assasin's filtering, log into the cPanel. From there, choose the 'Mail' icon and 'Email Filtering'. You will want to choose 'Add Filter' and add a filter that reads as follows:

'Spam Assasin Spam Header' 'begins with' 'Yes' (you will see this at the bottom of the page). Then you just need to specify a destination, either 'Discard' or to a spam email address you have set up.
