Welcome to FastWebHost. We are glad to have you and are committed to provide reliable web hosting with 24/7 customer support. Please go through following documentation before using the services provided to you by FastWebHost.com.

We assume that you have purchased a hosting plan and have received our welcome email with hosting logins and DNS information.

If you have not  received the welcome email within 6 hrs of signing up please contact our support immediately.

Once you go through the following steps you can easily setup your site with FastWebHost.

STEP 1 :   POINT YOUR DOMAIN   DNS TO OUR SERVERS ( TRANSFER  DNS )

Before pointing your domain DNS to our servers, You need to collect the primary name server and secondary name server address provided in your hosting plan welcome email (Transfer Domain Section)

Then select the desired option as listed below to update domain DNS.

OPTION 1 : DOMAINS REGISTERED WITH FASTWEBHOST.COM

If you registered your domain with FastWebHost.com and purchased hosting plan you can update your domain DNS to our servers using below steps.

Nameservers enter your primary and secondary nameservers.

For Example :

4) Then click on the "Save Changes" button.

Note: You need to wait 24-48 hrs for your domain DNS info propagation.
After 48 hrs only you can see your site and send/receive emails.

OPTION 2 : DOMAINS NOT REGISTERED WITH FASTWEBHOST.COM  BUT HOSTING  WITH FASTWEBHOST.COM.

You need to update your domain DNS at your registrar site. Please contact your domain registrar and give DNS information provided in hosting welcome email. So that your registrar  can update DNS on your domain.

You can find out who is your domain registrar and where your domain DNS pointing, from http://www.xwhois.com

Note:  You need to wait 24-48 hrs for your domain DNS info propagation.

STEP 2 : ACCESSING SITE CONTROL PANEL  ( cPanel )

Make sure that your updated domain DNS and propagated as per Step 1 before proceeding further.
You can access your domain cpanel using following different URL's

http://www.yoursite.com/cpanel
http://www.yoursite.com:2082
https://www.yoursite.com:2083

You will be asked to enter username and password which you can find in your welcome email under "ACCESSING YOUR SERVER" section.

Note: Replace yoursite.com with your actual domain name.

Once you login to control panel you can create email accounts, sub domains and MySql Databases etc.

To learn about cpanel features please see visual tutorials at http://www.fastwebhost.com/tutorials.html

STEP 3 : UPLOADING FILES TO YOUR WEBSITE

To publish your website (upload the files from your local computer)
to your account/server, you need to use some sort of uploading software.
There are many options available. Here are a few options:

A ) FTP Software (WS_FTP, CuteFTP, SmartFTP )

You can download and install on your computer from following links
http://www.ipswitch.com/, http://www.cuteftp.com/products/cuteftp/index.shtml or http://smartftp.com

Before uploading through your FTP software requires following details.

--   FTP SERVER NAME : ftp.yoursite.com or Server IP ( you can find it in the welcome email )
--   USERNAME :   Your control panel username
--   PASSWORD :   password
--   UPLOAD DIRECTORY : public_html

Your home page must be placed in the "public_html" directory and must be named
"index.htm" or index.html. This is the file
that the server looks for when someone types your URL:
http://www.yoursite.com in their Web browser.

B) Microsoft FrontPage (http://www.microsoft.com/frontpage/default.htm)

If you designed your site using Microsoft Front Page you can directly publish using Front page.
To upload to your site, you need to know these few things:
--   FRONTPAGE SITE : http://www.yoursite.com (See Notes Below)
--   FRONTPAGE USERNAME : Your control panel user name
--   PASSWORD : Password

FrontPage will not work until your domain DNS propagated to our
server. It may take 24- 48 hrs for full DNS propagation after you update
your DNS.

C) cPanel File Manager

You can also upload files using cpanel File Manager.
1) Login to cpanel   ( http://www.yoursite.com/cpanel )
2) Click on File Manager Icon
3) You can see list of files and folders.
4) Click on "public_html" folder icon to open files in that folder.
5) Upload files to that folder using "upload files" link

If you have any doubts about uploading files through Front Page, FTP and File manager you can see visual tutorials from http://www.fastwebhost.com/tutorials.html
